Taeyoon You

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Taeyoon finished his bachelor’s in biology from York University and currently pursuing his masters in biogenetics. He is one of the founding members of UFI Toronto, and his role is to take care of the garden and plants. Through this organization, he hopes we could bring fruits and flowers closer to our communities by turning lawns into gardens.

Januja Jeyarajah

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Januja finished her bachelors in physical geography from York University and currently working with the City of Markham in waste management. Her passions include gardening, playing with her dog and spending time with her son. She is one of the founding members of UFI Toronto, and her role is administrative support and tending to the garden and plants. She hopes that UFI will be able to reach many communities and individuals that need fresh produce.

Thupakaran Jeyarajah

DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS

Thupakaran has his diploma in computer Networking from Centennial College. His passions include woodworking, watching tv and playing with his nephew. He is one of the founding members of UFI Toronto, and his role is IT support, tending to the garden by performing the initial phases of the garden. He performs all the soil preparation and the handy work necessary for the garden. He hopes that UFI can establish itself to create more community gardens around the Greater Toronto Area.

Abed Pathan

DIRECTOR OF FINANCES

Abed began his career in the Audit and Advisory Practice of Ernst and Young LLP, earning his CPA, CA. After completing his MBA from Lvey Business School at the University of Western Ontario, he joined his family business in residential property management. 

He led the company’s expansion into hospitality assets with the acquisition of Best Western in Brantford, Ontario and has conducted business operations and finance ever since.

In addition to the business, Abed sits on the board of CFIB (Canadian Federation of Independent Businesses) and ASP foundation (an international NGO that funds education for children in poverty in Bangladesh). 

For UFI, his role is handling the finances and business aspects of the foundation.

Niroshan Jeyarajah

BOARD MEMBER

Niroshan currently works for the Ministry of Solicitor General after receiving his bachelor’s in Neuroscience at the University of Toronto. His passions include watching horror movies, going to the gym, enjoying different cultural foods and playing with his sons.

At UFI, he helps with grant writing, administrative tasks and ensuring the gardens are up and running. He also helps with the outreach of community members and volunteers.

Jofina Victor

BOARD MEMBER

Jofina is an environmental Scientist currently working in the fisheries field after receiving a bachelor of environmental science from York University. She is passionate about conservation and biodiversity ( on water and land). Some of her hobbies include playing sports, running and backcountry canoe tripping. Her role in UFI is to establish the garden and tend to the daily operation of the garden.
